CHARACTER DESIGN
The protagonist, Eliza, is inspired in Coraline (LAIKA), with crazy orange hair and big eyes. The story happens in her bedroom, from the moment when she wakes up, till she goes to have breakfast. That's why I designed her mostly in pijamas.
I wanted to present the character by showing her messy room. I had to design and make multiple kind of toys, furniture and books to decorate the space. Later on, her acting will also help to present how she is, but in a first impression, I wanted to use the room as an extension of her mind.
BEHIND THE SCENES
All the action happens in this small room. So I had to have space to move around the characters and the camera.
To do this, I made the room with 3 moveable walls:
- 1 with the door
- 1 with the windows
- And the last was a plain wall to use on either side of the room.
In the photo I used the wardrobe to hide the door.
